Several years ago, my husband and I bought our first home. I was so excited to be out of an apartment so that I could finally paint the walls, put holes in the walls, and decorate things exactly how I wanted. A few weeks after moving in, the reality of paying a mortgage set in, and I quickly realized that decorating my home the way I’d always dreamed of would require us to take out a second mortgage. That was not an option, so I made due with what we had and learned how to design a beautiful room on a very tight budget. I’ve discovered that a little DIY motivation and elbow grease can do wonders for any room.

I am a stay at home mom to 2 cute little boys (and one on the way!) with a huge passion for home decorating on a budget. I absolutely LOVE decorating my home and finding ways to spend as little money as possible while doing it. A few of my decorating obsessions include throw pillows, lamps, anything vintage looking, and spray paint. They just make me happy. I’m also pretty good with my husband’s power tools and love a good DIY challenge.

There are a few philosophies I try to live by when decorating my own home:
DIY for less, and never pay full price for anything over 30 dollars. There is just no need to spend a lot of money on things that you can do yourself for a mere fraction of the price (don’t worry, you’re not going to have to build furniture from scratch). If there’s something you just have to have, either save for it, wait till it goes on sale, search for a cheaper look-a-like item, or use a good coupon. This website is dedicated to giving you tips and tricks, step-by-step instructions, highly discounted products, and hopefully, some motivation to transform your space on any budget. Don’t worry if you’ve never picked up a power tool, or tackled a painting project before. I’ll show you how to do it. I believe that your home should bring you happiness and inspire you to do great things. It can be a wonderful expression of who you are. Whether you have a little, a lot, or nothing at all to spend, it IS possible to make your home a place you love.
