Budget Tip of the Day: Paint!

There’s really no limit to the fun you can have with a nursery and it’s easy to incorporate many budget nursery ideas into the mix. Throw all the rules out that you’ve got for the rest of your house and use paint to create a fun nursery that both you and baby will love. Paint is the most inexpensive way to make the biggest impact in any room. Stripes always work well for a nursery and give it a whimsical look. To paint stripes as shown in the picture, first paint the entire wall the lighter of the two colors. When the paint is completely dry, measure and tape off the stripes using a level to make sure they are straight. Paint the stripes with the darker color and peel off the tape before it is completely dry. If you’ve never painted stripes before, you will find that it can take quite a bit of time and work. But it really does make a big impact for not a lot of money. Enlist a friend to help you out and cut your time in half.
