Decorating for Renters

decorating for rentersBudget Tip of the Day: Curtain Wall

There’s no rule that says you have to have windows to hang curtains.  That’s right!  You can use curtain panels to add lots of color and life to a space you are not allowed to paint.  It’s a perfect decorating for renters solution for those of you who are dying to paint your walls.  A great way to add a big chunk of color to a room is to dress an entire wall (one without windows) with colorful curtain panels.  You’ll need to find a long enough rod and enough panels to cover the length of the wall.  IKEA is a great place to find affordable, long curtain rods.  A solid color panel will give you the most impact and keep the room from looking to busy.  This technique creates a beautiful, soft effect that paint just can’t rival.  If you’re not up for an entire wall, then at least use colorful panels to dress up your windows.

Come back tomorrow for a new decorating for renters tip.

Thank you for doing a renters segment! we have been renting for a year now and sometimes I get a mental block with the outdated kitchen and real wood panel in the den. Can’t wait for more post!
