Dressing up a Roman Shade

This is the roman shade in my son’s room.  I bought it for $20.00 at Target about 2 years ago.  It has always just seemed so plain to me so I decided to add a little interest to it using some twill ribbon.
Here is the before.

I used two different adhesive methods, just to experiment a little.  On the wide strip I used a peel & stick fabric fuse.  Just roll it on and then remove the paper backing.
For the thin strip I used good old Fabri Tac.

Here is the finished product.

I didn’t want to make it too crazy and busy–just a little something to add some interest and tie it to the rest of the room. I also want to raise the hardware slightly which will give the illusion of a bigger window and a little more height to the room.

I am slowly trying to get this room ready for my youngest son to move in here.  Baby #3 is coming at the end of August so we are going to make the switch when that happens.  I don’t want to get bunk beds so the challenge will be to fit two beds into this small room.  I have some ideas and I think it’s going to turn out great.  I already “finished” this room, so I will just have to make a few small changes.  So there you have it–I’m pregnant!  We are very excited and nervous about having 3 kiddos.  Life is crazy, but SO good!
