Goodbye House — Budget Wise Home

Goodbye House

Well it was a long and very busy week trying to get every last item out of our house, but we did it!  It’s such a relief to be done and now we can start to get a little more settled here with my mom.  It’s a pretty tight space, but we are managing OK.

It was pretty emotional for me to say goodbye to our house for the last time.  We were definitely ready to move on, but the tears came flowing nonetheless.

I wanted to make sure we all had some closure before we left.  So we took some time to remember all the happy memories we had in the house.  We went room by room and had everyone say what they remembered about each room and what we did there.  I couldn’t believe how many things I’d forgotten that the boys brought up.  I cried, we laughed, and the boys couldn’t get enough of the wide open space.

We remembered how all the boys would race down the stairs backwards on their stomachs before they could walk down by themselves.  So, of course, they decided to have one last race.

The whole experience was so positive and we all left in happy spirits.

Goodbye House!

Now it’s back to decorating and design for me.

I’m so excited to tell you that I finally have the pictures of my sister’s house back and that tour starts TOMORROW!!  Get ready for a very girly space and lots of color.

Aww, that is so sweet- bittersweet! We will miss you guys in our neighborhood, but I’m glad you’ll be moving on to bigger and better things. And I’ll of course keep in touch through your blog :) You are so talented Heidi, and I love that you share your talents with others :)

  2. Oh, such a big moment. Congratulations on the next step. I am so proud of you for taking time to soak it in before leaving. We did not do that in our old house. . . had to literally hand over keys and run out the door. It was traumatic and such a bummer not to breathe and take it in. Wishing you lots of luck with your next adventure.
