Budget Tip of the Day: Faux Crown Molding
Who doesn’t love the look of beautiful crown molding? Did you know you can create it yourself with a decorating trick using some thin molding and paint? Well you can, and it’s easier and much cheaper than you might think. Similar to yesterday’s tip, all you need is inexpensive, thin molding. Paint the molding before you hang it to eliminate the extra step of taping the walls underneath. Then simply install it a few inches down from the ceiling at the height of your choice using nails or maybe even a little hot glue. All that’s left to do is paint the remaining space above the molding and you’re done. You can also install another piece of molding at the top where the wall meets the ceiling, but that is optional. It looks great either way.
Come back tomorrow for a new decorating tricks tip.
