This week I’m taking a look back into the archives. I’m re-posting some of your favorite old tips from this past year. There are so many tips that even I have forgotten about. Hopefully, you’ll be reminded of a tip you never got around to doing or maybe forgot about. What’s old is new again, right? Enjoy!
Budget Tip of the Day: Cheap Area Rug
I’ve been looking for large area rugs quite a bit lately and am always overwhelmed by the high price tags. A large rug is just plain expensive. I’m sure many of you have faced the same dilemma as me. Using carpet tiles is always a good option, but I thought about piecing a few smaller rugs together to make one large area rug or runner.
These are rag rugs from Target that were about $4.00 each. The edges are butted up together and then hand stitched with a cotton yarn. I love the contrasting colors! Just a large needle while you watch a few episodes of Sarah’s House on HGTV (my favorite show!) and you’ve got yourself a good sized rug.
This could save you a lot of money. What do you think? Would you do this? I’m dying to try it.
Come back tomorrow for another “best of” tip.

Aaaccckkk!! I remember when you posted this and I LOOOVED IT!!! I would love to use this idea. Will have to pin it for now.
Cute idea! I love Sarah’s House, too! My fav’ HGTV show as well!!
