A wreath on your front door is an easy way to add life to the outside of your home, and there’s no better time to hang one than right now. The options for fall and holiday wreaths are endless and you can easily make something yourself. This week I’m sharing my favorite wreaths for the season.
Budget Tip of the Day: Star Anise Wreath
This first wreath is my favorite find so far this season. I have been wanting this star anise wreath by Smith and Hawken since I first spotted it at Target a couple months ago.

Not only is it completely beautiful, but the smell is amazing!! Star Anise is a spice used a lot in Asian cooking. It has sort of a licorice smell, with some spiciness. You can smell this wreath from a few feet away. It is normally $39.99, but I just checked online and it’s on clearance for just $19.99!! Click the image above to purchase. The regular price was already a good deal for the size and quality, but $19.99 is a steal! This is also a wreath you can make yourself. You can buy whole star anise at Asian markets or here on Amazon. Pick up a foam wreath at any craft store and paint it brown. Use a hot glue gun to adhere the star anise. Since I’ve never purchased this before, I’m not sure how much it would cost to buy as much star anise as you’d need to make this wreath. It could be cheaper if you have a smaller wreath form, but it might cost just as much as buying the original. I think this would look so lovely hung on a blue door. What do you think?
Have any of you guys spotted this wreath at Target?
Come back tomorrow for more of my favorite wreaths.
