We are continuing the tour around my living room this week. Next stop: my newly refurbished thrift store lamps. I found these for $3.00 each and saw some great potential. I love the shape of them both. I also like that they are different, but just similar enough to look like they go together.
Here they are before.
I took the same green color from our kitchen wall and used it on the lamps to tie the two rooms together.
I found the lamp shades at Home Goods for $12.99 a piece. As soon as I saw the price tag, I snatched them up pronto!
Our living room has no main overhead light, so these have made a fantastic addition to the space. I can actually see now–it’s great.
Total cost for each lamp: $16.00
Does anyone else love that green color as much as I do? Now that my walls are a little more neutral, the green is just what the room needs to give it some life. The windows desperately need drapes, but the fabric I want is not in my budget at the moment ( I need quite a bit). Hopefully I can save enough over the next few months to finally get this room finished.

Love the lamps! The color is great. Inspires me do so some for myself. Thanks for sharing.
Found you from Cottage Instincts.
Awesome color, they look great!
I really like the punch of color your lamps add to the room. It is always great to find great items like that for such a great price. I am learning, by visiting great blogs, what an addition of a bright color does so much for a room. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
I love the green! What a great deal.
GORGEOUS transformation!! Great job! They look very much like something you’d pick up at Home Goods!
They look wonderful! And they are the perfect color too! Beautiful!
The color is fabulous and I love those shades!
What a wonderful green color! How did you get them so shiny? A high gloss paint? A coat of poly? I tried painting a lamp with leftover paint and it was too matte. I look forward to reading more on your blog!
I painted the lamps with leftover paint that I used in my kitchen. I would normally use spray paint, but I really liked this color. I used a high gloss spray enamel over the top to give it that extra shine. You can spray this stuff over anything an it will give it a nice, shiny finish.
Man I looove that green!!!
I love the color – it really makes the lamps look fresh.
Hi. I love the way your lamps turned out! I tried searching for your kitchen color but couldn’t find it. Would you mind sharing what color you used? Thanks!
How did you get the paint to adhere to the metal? Did you sand the lamps? They look great.
